| Large frame, wiry now but room to fill in upper body. Long-limbed and athletic. Straightforward delivery with moderate leg kick and high 3/4 release, stays upright throughout. Does not always repeat delivery; speeds up and slows down, sometimes there is a disconnect between first and second phase (leg kick and arm action) |

Relatively straight pitch. Occasional glove side run with the four seam, arm side run with the two-seamer. Able to induce weak contact, both in the air and on the ground, but doesn't excel at generating whiffs at present. Command is also an issue currently, both in the zone and outside of it. Tends to miss arm-side up and will lose the zone at times. Fastball is most effective when located up in the zone and sequenced well with the his curveball. A lot of the fastball's efficacy will be reliant upon its relationship with the curve. |

Pretty 11-5 shape with sharp downward action and good depth when located low in and below the zone. Comfortable throwing up in the zone for strikes, though can get slightly loopy at times. Legitimate swing and miss pitch when thrown properly and down in the zone. Comfortable future plus and occasionally flashes better. Money pitch and landing it consistently will be key to future success. |

Provided good health, Priester will be a big leaguer. Whether he peaks as a low-end no. 2/high-end no. 3 or settles in as a back-end starter will be contingent upon command improvements and consistent execution of the curveball. The fastball will generate more whiffs if located more precisely, and the more consistently the curve is executed the better the fastball will play. Despite the present command shortcomings, Priester shows good feel for multiple pitches and is advanced for his age. These qualities will help to buoy him as he works on making the necessary refinements.
