Large frame with a lean, athletic build. Projection remains for added good growth. High-3/4 armslot with a balanced delivery that requires moderate effort; works exclusively from the stretch. |

Pitch is straight, lacking horizontal movement but has late life, gets good extension. Delivery requires some effort and, in my look, Kelly seemed to fatigue late with the velocity dipping. Commands the pitch well. |

Has two plane movement, good velocity separation and arm replication. Kelly's confident in the pitch and will throw it in any count, stealing a strike early or burying for a swing and miss. |

Currently inconsistent and lacking feel, the few that he got right had 12-to-6 movement and depth from his high arm slot. |
Drafted in the 8th round and paid over-slot, Kelly has taken advantage of his first full professional season. Simplifying the delivery by working exclusively from the stretch has tightened up the command. He has also turned the slider into a true swing and miss pitch. Ultimately a high leverage bullpen role is likely, where the fastball will tick up a notch.
