Mechanics
Smooth, easy delivery; quick arm, lacks consistency, mechanical variations from the time he breaks his hands to the time he releases the ball; lanky body with lots of arms and legs to control, gets out of sync at times; great extension out front, good athlete, finishes in a solid position to field the ball; lots of nervous energy on the mound

Pitch Type Future Grade Sitting Velocity Peak Velocity Report
FB 80 94-97 101 Electric offering; easily found 100-101 throughout start, including multiple times in final inning of work; pitched anywhere from 94-98 throughout; showed two-seam life at 94-95; able to miss bats on velocity alone; extension and easy delivery augment pure velocity, ball gets on hitters much quicker than they expect; can lose strike zone completely, showed limited ability to throw consistent strikes (let alone command), even when trying to dial it back; potential elite pitch that would play in upper-90s in short bursts.
CB 45 76-79 81 Slow, loopy breaker, lacks tight rotation and subsequent bite; occasional harder CB at 79-81 showed more promise with quality depth; velocity separation a factor, hitters had a difficult time adjusting when sequenced w/ FB; plays poorly as a "get me over" offering, some potential for pitch improvement in shorter bursts where it can be thrown consistently harder
SL 45 85-87 88 Rarely went to pitch, relying more on CB when he wanted a breaking ball; showed occasional darting 10-4 break; lacked consistent spin or movement, even without sharp action, pitch had enough wiggle to avoid being hit hard; came out of his hand similar to FB, giving it some deceptive qualities
CH 60 84-86 87 Very good pitch, go-to offering in critical counts; able to initiate at-bats with CH at times, comfort to throw it in all counts; quality fade, guided a couple but generally regained feel quickly; excellent deception, maintains arm speed and slot, potential swing-and-miss offering
Overall

Relief profile with potential to devastate in short bursts. An electric fastball headlines the profile. The pitch flashes dominant characteristics, with a chance to play as an elite offering in short bursts. His breaking balls lack consistency, with neither showing potential for reliability in a starting role, though either could benefit from being thrown with more vigor in shorter outings. The change can be a weapon, particularly in keeping left-handed hitters off his fastball. He's loose with the entire arsenal, and his ability to throw strikes is completely absent at times to where he frequently required visits from a catcher or pitching coach to help make adjustments and get back on track - sometimes with little success. There's limited feel for pitching here, which leads him to rely on velocity, and he lacks the consistency and control projection to remain in a starting role. The fastball-change combination can be deadly in relief, however, and either breaking ball could work as an occasional third pitch to add a vertical element to one-inning stints.
