Over-the-top arm slot; arm action can get long and late; plus arm speed; shortened stride; delivery has been significantly simplified compared to earlier looks; still lacks feel; more of a semi-windup now; less moving parts; inconsistent finish; lacks fastball extension to hit glove side; some cross-fire; big, physical body to hold innings; quick to lose composure on the mound. |

Four-seam fastball; velocity can run into the mid-90s, but 30-grade command of it; shows below-average command/average control with an average to above-average fastball; delivery cannot be further simplified; struggles to throw down in the zone; didn't even bother throwing glove side. |
Slider |

Slider; inconsistent two-plane break; flashes plus action; below-average command; chase offering; pitch of choice to combat opposite-sided batters; not a recipe for future success; able to backfoot it to lefties; creates angles with arm slot; rarely drops it in for strikes. |

Changeup; small sample; rarely throws it; usually looks forced when he does; turned over a few fringe-average ones; mostly flat and firm; can't spot it down; often flat and floating in the zone. |
I've seen Anderson a few times now, and have yet to be impressed by the overall package. I like his arm speed and physical body that indicate the ability to carry a heavy workload. But he lacks the consistency and command profile to take the ball every fifth day in a rotation. I am convinced he will ultimately be a reliever, but in which role?
The lack of composure on the mound rules out a closer's job. I haven't seen him in a reliever's setting, but if there is fringe to solid-average command of his mid-90s fastball in short bursts, I see him as a setup man. Otherwise, it is a middle reliever profile, as he will have to tone down his fastball to throw it near the strike-zone and get to his slider.
