Hit 55 Lawlar has a smooth swing he pairs with a strong ability to take pitches. While questions about how much he swings can be asked, the actual skills themselves set him up for success.
Power 50 Lawlar isn't built like a power hittier, much more of a contact hitter. That doesn't mean he won't hit home runs, he's done it before. It wouldn't be fair to call him a home run hitting infielder. 10-15 seems reasonable.
Baserunning/Speed 70 His best tool and it's not close. Lawlar will be one of the fastest players in any league he's playing in, and he knows how to use it. Often he'd walk or get a single, then within a couple of pitches steal second with ease. This also comes into play in the field, where his stride and speed make getting to balls easy.
Glove 60 A natural defender, Lawlar has great positioning and never looks flustered on high difficulty plays. Barring something extremely unforeseen, he'll be able to stick at shortstop as long as he desires.
Arm 60 Arm is perfect for shortstop. Throws look effortless, even when he's going across his body and on the move. The throws aren't rushed, and are usually on target.
Overall

Lawlar is a prep shortstop, so it will take time for him to get to the big leagues. That said, he's got a lot of qualities that will see him through the minors. With strong defense, elite speed, and strong contact Lawlar has a strong foundation for success. The adjustment time from high school to professional ball will take time, but Lawlar is suited to make that transition. That doesn't mean it will be quick, but it's not likely to be problematic. If he continues along this path, he's a good everyday MLB shortstop who if he makes better contact can become a regular All Star. Even if he stays roughly the same, an every day regular is almost assured.
